Kings Kaleidoscope is an innovative American Christian rock band based in Seattle, known for their eclectic sound that blends indie rock with hip-hop production. Formed in 2010 at Mars Hill Church, the band was initially led by Chadwick “Chad” Gardner, who served as a worship leader. Their journey began with the release of their first live EP, “Sin,” recorded during a Good Friday service in 2011, followed by the studio EP “Asaph’s Arrows” in 2012, showcasing their unique musical style and commitment to their faith-based roots.
In 2014, Kings Kaleidoscope solidified their presence in the music scene with the release of their debut LP, “Becoming Who We Are,” through Tooth & Nail Records. This album marked a significant milestone, featuring a rich orchestral sound and reaching audiences both secular and nonsecular. Their subsequent album, “Beyond Control,” released in 2016, became their most commercially successful project, peaking at number six on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart.
The band’s creativity continued to flourish with the 2017 mixtape “The Beauty Between,” which included collaborations with notable hip-hop artists. Their fourth studio album, “Zeal,” released in 2019, further established their reputation, reaching the Top Ten on both Christian and independent album charts. In 2020, they released the “Power Perfect” EP, responding to the socio-political climate with thought-provoking themes.
After a brief hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kings Kaleidoscope returned with their fourth studio album, “Baptized Imagination,” in November 2022, followed by their self-titled album in 2023.
