Lincoln Brewster was born on July 30, 1971, in Fairbanks, Alaska, and started his musical journey very early in life. Raised in Homer, Alaska, his mother observed his natural rhythmic ability at age one with a drum set. By age five, he had mastered the mandolin, performing with his mother for cruise ship tourists. As a teenager, his family moved to Modesto, California, where he joined his high school’s jazz and marching bands, playing various instruments. His early talent led to a record contract offer at age 19 in Los Angeles, but he chose a different path after a personal spiritual experience, moving back to Modesto to be with his wife, Laura.
After their marriage, Brewster and Laura attended Calvary Temple Church, where he initially served as a sound technician before becoming the associate music director and youth worship leader. In 1997, they relocated to Nashville to serve as full-time music ministers at The Oasis Church. During this time, his musical abilities caught the attention of Integrity Music executives, leading to a recording partnership with their Vertical Music label. His debut self-titled album was released in 1999. Brewster also contributed to other artists’ projects, including vocals and guitar for Darrell Evans’ “Freedom” project in 1998, and performing with Michael W. Smith on the “Live the Life” tour in 1998. He continued releasing albums with Integrity Music, including “Live to Worship” (2000) and “Amazed” (2002).
In 2001, Lincoln Brewster became the worship pastor at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, California, a role he holds alongside his music career. He released several successful albums such as “Today Is the Day” (2008), which featured the popular title track, and “Real Life” (2010), known for tracks like “Best Days” and “Reaching For You.” His discography further expanded with a Christmas album, “Joy to the World” (2012), and “Oxygen” (2014), which showcased a modern pop sound with guitar riffs and solos. Brewster continues to record, produce, and tour, with recent releases including “God of the Impossible” (2018), “A Mostly Acoustic Christmas” (2019), and “Perfect Love” (2021).
