Local H is an influential American rock band that has made significant contributions to the alternative rock scene since its formation in 1990. Originally established in Zion, Illinois, by guitarist and vocalist Scott Lucas, bassist Matt Garcia, drummer Joe Daniels, and lead guitarist John Sparkman, the band quickly gained attention for their unique sound. After the departure of key members, Local H transitioned into a dynamic two-piece setup, showcasing their versatility and resilience in the music industry.

In 1994, Local H signed with Island Records, where they released their debut album, “Ham Fisted” (1995). Although the album did not achieve commercial success, the band persevered and released their second album, “As Good as Dead” (1996), which became a breakthrough hit. The album sold over 320,000 copies and featured the iconic single “Bound for the Floor,” which peaked at No. 5 on the US Alternative Billboard Chart, solidifying Local H’s place in rock history.

Following a successful stint with Island Records, Local H continued to evolve under the leadership of drummer Brian St. Clair, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as “Pack Up the Cats” (1998) and “Twelve Angry Months” (2008). Their innovative approach to live performances, including an all-request tour and unique concert experiences, further endeared them to fans and showcased their commitment to engaging with their audience.

In 2013, Ryan Harding joined as the new drummer, and the band released two more albums, “Hey, Killer” (2015) and “Lifers” (2020), both of which received positive reviews. Local H remains a vibrant force in the rock genre, known for their energetic live shows and creative contributions to music, continuing to inspire new generations of fans.
