Madeleine Peyroux

Madeleine Peyroux first gained recognition touring Europe with The Lost Wandering Blues and Jazz Band around 1990, honing her distinctive vocal style through extensive busking in Paris’s Latin Quarter during her teenage years. After signing with Atlantic Records, she released her debut album, ‘Dreamland,’ in 1996. Her breakthrough arrived with the critically acclaimed 2004 album, ‘Careless Love,’ which sold over half a million copies and achieved RIAA Gold certification. This pivotal work also marked the beginning of her significant collaboration with producer Larry Klein, a partnership initiated in 2003, which would define much of her subsequent sound.

Peyroux’s music has been a fixture in film and television, with her track ‘J’ai deux amours’ featured in the 2014 film Diplomacy. She released ‘Secular Hymns’ in 2016, and her atmospheric rendition of Serge Gainsbourg’s ‘La Javanaise’ was prominently featured in the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water in 2017. Her 2018 album, ‘Anthem,’ showcased her continued exploration of contemporary themes and musical diversity, further cementing her position as a versatile and respected figure in the music industry. Maintaining an active global touring schedule, Peyroux continues to connect with audiences worldwide.

She released her latest album, ‘Let’s Walk,’ in 2024, continuing her exploration of contemporary themes and unique compositions. Beyond her artistic contributions, Peyroux is deeply committed to philanthropy, consistently raising funds for homeless organizations through surcharges on her concert tickets and participating in benefit albums, reflecting her enduring dedication to both her craft and social impact.
