Mariah Angelique Pérez, known professionally as Mariah Angeliq, was born on August 7, 1999, in Miami, Florida. Her father is Cuban and her mother is Puerto Rican. Mariah Angeliq began writing music at the age of 16. In 2018, she signed with Universal Music Latin, releasing her debut single “Blah” on June 28, 2018. The following year, her song “Perreito” garnered attention on social media platforms like TikTok and received praise from Billboard. This led to a campaign with watchmaking brand Bulova. In 2020, she released “Taxi” featuring Guaynaa and received nominations for a Premio Lo Nuestro award for New Female Artist and a Premios Juventud award for Female New Generation. She also released her first EP, “Normal,” in 2020.
