Melody Gardot, an acclaimed jazz singer, songwriter, and composer, has overcome significant personal adversity to build a distinguished career marked by evocative music and impactful advocacy for music therapy. After releasing her self-produced EP, ‘Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions’ in 2005, Melody Gardot went on to secure a record deal with Universal Music Group, following significant attention from radio stations like WXPN in Philadelphia. Her acclaimed debut album, ‘Worrisome Heart,’ was released on Verve Records in 2008, quickly followed by ‘My One and Only Thrill’ in 2009, which was produced by Larry Klein. Building on this early success, Gardot delivered a captivating performance at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia in 2009 and made a notable appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman the same year.
