Miku Martineau grew up in Toronto with a chorus of hobbies — singing, performing, cycling, figure skating, ice hockey and, later, yoga — and parents who nudged curiosity toward the arts. She started quietly, at 12, as a voice actor; those early sessions led to small screen and film chances, including work on Kate (2021) opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Woody Harrelson. What began as a child’s delight in pretend-play turned into a deliberate career in storytelling.
By February 2022 she released her first music — the singles “Stay in the Moment” and “When I Cry” — and kept layering craft onto craft: singing, acting, observing. Recent years brought a breakout turn as Young Philippa Georgiou in Star Trek: Section 31 (Prime Video, Jan 22, 2025), a performance critics called emotionally compelling and, at times, riveting. On television she plays Yumeko in Netflix’s Bet (renewed for Season 2 on June 24, 2025), and on film she was part of Danis Goulet’s Night Raiders, a Canadian story about intergenerational trauma that resonated widely (the film’s lead, Elle‑Máijá Tailfeathers, took home Best Performance at the Canadian Screen Awards).
Miku is a rising young star with growing international recognition — fans in dozens of countries, a presence on social, and a reputation for versatility. She’s pragmatic about fame and curious about craft. Next: Crew Girl and whispers of a possible Star Trek sequel. She tells stories because she believes they connect us — imperfectly, urgently, and humanly.
