Mom Jeans

Mom Jeans is an American alternative rock band that has made significant strides in the indie music scene since their formation in 2014 in Berkeley, California. The band began as a duo with drummer Austin Carango and lead singer Eric Butler, who recorded their debut EP, Spring Demo, showcasing their acoustic style. This initial project laid the groundwork for their self-titled debut release, which incorporated electric instrumentation and welcomed new members Josh Perline and David McDowall, marking the band’s evolution into a full-fledged group.

In 2016, Mom Jeans self-released their first full-length album, Best Buds, which was later re-released on vinyl by Counter Intuitive Records, further solidifying their presence in the music industry. The band continued to expand their discography with the release of their second album, Puppy Love, in 2018, demonstrating their growth and commitment to their craft. Their ability to blend catchy melodies with relatable lyrics has resonated with fans, earning them a dedicated following.

The band’s innovative spirit was evident in their 2022 release, Sweet Tooth, which showcased their ability to adapt and evolve their sound. Following the departure of bassist Gabriel Paganin, they embraced new collaborations, including touring with Hobo Johnson, which broadened their audience reach.

Most recently, in November 2023, Mom Jeans announced their album Bear Market, featuring reimagined tracks from their previous works. This project highlights their artistic versatility and commitment to producing music that resonates with their fans, further establishing them as a prominent force in the indie rock genre.
