Nelly Furtado has charted a versatile career, evolving from a trip-hop inspired debut to a global pop sensation, making her an attractive figure for brand collaborations. After gaining initial recognition with her debut album, ‘Whoa, Nelly!’, released in October 2000, Nelly Furtado went on to earn a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the international hit single ‘I’m Like a Bird’ in 2002. This seminal album also featured the successful single ‘Turn Off the Light’. Furtado had previously signed a record deal with DreamWorks Records in 1999 and released her first single, ‘Party’s Just Begun (Again)’, on the ‘Brokedown Palace’ soundtrack that same year.
Following her greatest hits album ‘The Best of Nelly Furtado’ (November 2010), she released ‘The Spirit Indestructible’ in September 2012, preceded by the single ‘Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)’ in April. Furtado also co-headlined Switzerland’s Art on Ice tour in February 2015 and appeared in the romantic comedy film ‘A Date with Miss Fortune’ in 2016. In March 2017, she released the indie-pop album ‘The Ride’ via Nelstar Entertainment. In recent years, Furtado has continued to engage with new music and high-profile collaborations.
She appeared at Mighty Hoopla and Isle of MTV in Summer 2024, ahead of the release of her highly anticipated seventh studio album, ‘7’, on September 20, 2024. Additionally, a remixed version of her track ‘Showstopper’ featuring AJ Tracey is slated for release on December 25, 2024, and she is set to collaborate with Don Diablo on ‘Doing Nothin”, scheduled for May 30, 2025.
