United States Nick Wayne is a professional wrestler who has achieved significant milestones at a young age, showcasing a rapid rise in major wrestling promotions.
Nashville artist and writer, Nick Wayne, has signed with EMPIRE Nashville's publishing arm. Formerly with Black River Entertainment, Wayne has had his songs recorded by Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Lady A, and more. EMPIRE and Janine Ebach's Ebach Entertainment will concurrently work with Wayne in the country market, while expanding his presence in the pop/R&B world as a songwriter and artist.
Nick Wayne was formerly with Black River Entertainment, known for helping develop his songwriting and artistic career before his move to EMPIRE Nashville.
Nick joined the Ebach Entertainment family in partnership with Empire in 2020. Ebach Entertainment, led by Janine Ebach, works concurrently with EMPIRE to manage and expand Wayne's presence as a songwriter and artist in the country market and the pop/R&B world.
Nicholas Wayne Finley, known professionally as Nick Wayne, was born on July 10, 2005, in Seattle, Washington. As a third-generation professional wrestler, following in the footsteps of his father, Buddy Wayne, and grandfather, Moondog Ed Moretti, Wayne began his wrestling training at a young age under his father’s guidance. He made his professional debut at an Invasion Championship Wrestling event on April 27, 2018, at just 12 years old, marking the beginning of a notable career.
Wayne’s career saw significant progression in his early years on the independent circuit. He gained recognition for his performances, notably facing Jonathan Gresham, Alan Angels, and Konosuke Takeshita at Ric Flair’s Last Match event on July 31, 2022. A major achievement came on April 8, 2023, when he defeated Swerve Strickland to capture the DEFY World Championship, successfully defending it twice before losing the title to Kenta on June 4.
In 2022, Wayne received an All Elite Wrestling (AEW) contract offer from Darby Allin, which he officially signed upon turning 18. He debuted on AEW Dynamite on July 12, 2023, and later made his Ring of Honor (ROH) debut on September 21, challenging for the ROH Pure Championship. A pivotal moment in his AEW career occurred at WrestleDream on October 1, 2023, where he turned heel by aligning with Christian Cage, eventually joining The Patriarchy stable. His accomplishments include winning the AEW World Trios Championship on July 21, 2024, at 19 years old, making him the youngest champion in AEW history. He also secured his first singles championship in a major promotion, the ROH World Television Championship, on April 17, 2025, becoming its youngest holder. In 2025, he also participated in New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament, where he notably defeated IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado.
