About

Anthony Tremaine Dixson, known professionally as Westside Boogie, was born on August 30, 1989, in Compton, California. His early exposure to music came through singing in his local church choir. The birth of his son, Darius, on June 24, 2009, served as a significant turning point, motivating him to pursue music seriously. He subsequently enrolled in recording courses at Long Beach City College in 2010, utilizing financial aid to acquire necessary recording equipment. Before establishing himself as a full-time musician, Dixson balanced his aspirations with various part-time jobs as a single father.

Westside Boogie’s musical journey began to gain traction with the release of his debut mixtape, “Thirst 48,” on June 24, 2014, which explored personal narratives and struggles. This was followed by “The Reach” a year later, further solidifying his presence in the hip-hop scene. His breakthrough single, “Oh My,” produced by Jahlil Beats, was released in 2015. The same year, he signed a recording contract with Interscope Records. In 2016, he released “Thirst 48, Pt. II,” building on the themes of his debut while also addressing modern societal issues like social media reliance.

His career reached a new level in October 2017 when he signed with Eminem’s Shady Records, a joint venture with Interscope. This period saw him featured in the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards Detroit Cypher and releasing singles such as “Violence” (2017), “Self Destruction” (2018), and “Deja Vu” (2018). His critically acclaimed debut studio album, “Everythings for Sale,” was released on January 25, 2019, featuring collaborations with artists like Eminem, 6lack, and JID. He continued his artistic output with his second album, “More Black Superheroes,” released on June 17, 2022. Throughout his career, Westside Boogie has garnered praise from notable artists including Rihanna, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar, underscoring his respected position within the music industry.
