Nonono

Nonono is a Swedish indie rock band that officially formed in 2012. The group consists of Stina Wäppling, Tobias “Astma” Jimson, and Michel “Rocwell” Flygare. Before forming Nonono, producers Tobias Jimson and Michel Rocwell had worked with various hip-hop artists for over a decade. Their collaboration with Stina Wäppling led to the creation of the band, blending their established production experience with Wäppling’s vocal talents.

The band’s debut single, “Pumpin Blood,” released in 2013, quickly gained international recognition. It charted in both Europe and the United States, reaching number 22 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and number 32 on the Pop Songs chart. The single achieved significant commercial success, selling 700,000 copies worldwide and earning a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This success positioned Nonono as a notable modern export from Sweden. Their debut studio album, “We Are Only What We Feel,” was released in 2014 under Warner Music/Warner Bros., further establishing their presence in the indie music scene.

Nonono continued to release new music, including their second studio album, “Undertones,” in 2018, and their third album, “Just Playing Dead Serious,” which was released in 2024 under Warner Music Germany. Over the years, they have maintained their independent rock sound, combining elements of indie pop and alternative rock. Their career progression showcases a consistent output of studio albums and singles, demonstrating their sustained presence and artistic development within the music industry. They have also engaged in collaborations, notably with The Chainsmokers, expanding their reach and musical influence.
