After forming in 2012, Old Dirty Brasstards have been bringing their bombastic renditions of chart hits to iconic festivals across the UK. The crowds of Bestival, Glastonbury, Latitude and Secret Garden Party alike, have all been introduced to their innovative covers, ranging from Mark Ronson’s 2014 hit, ‘Uptown Funk’ to Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’ to Pharrell Williams’ record-breaking winter track, ‘Happy’.
This ten-man group, comprised of London’s finest musical talent, has graced renowned venues such as Fabric, Kentish Town Forum, Hammersmith Apollo, Koko and Scala. Their unique and fresh approach to rock, hip-hop, RnB, soul and funk music has earned them residencies at Brooklyn Bowl and the Brixton, Camden & Shoreditch Blues Kitchens.
So, prepare to dispose of any preconceptions you may have. Their quaint and tweed-cladded dress code is merely a facade to their truly explosive live performances. King Brasstard and his band of musicians really are more than the average village fate entertainers. With their rocking renditions of ‘Don’t You Want Me Baby’ and their swanky take on Rhianna’s ‘Where Have You Been’, they are sure to get any age group up and moving.
To date, they have played a multitude of impressive sell-out shows, as well as private functions for all those wishing to have a good time. With their refreshing spin on brass band arrangement, the Old Dirty Brasstards are set to remain at the heart of any great party.
