Onf

ONF, an acronym for “On and Off,” was formed in Seoul, South Korea, by WM Entertainment. The group debuted on August 3, 2017, with their first EP, “On/Off.” Initially a seven-member group, it now consists of six members: Hyojin, E-Tion, Seungjun (formerly J-Us), Wyatt, Minkyun (formerly MK), and U. Prior to their debut, members U and Minkyun trained at JYP Entertainment and Starship Entertainment, respectively. Laun, a former member, trained with BTS at Big Hit Entertainment. All seven members were introduced as WM Boys and performed as backup dancers for B1A4 at the 2016 Dream Concert.

Following their debut, ONF members participated in the survival show “Mix Nine” in November 2017, with Hyojin emerging as the male center for the first performance and eventually placing second overall. After the cancellation of the project for the top nine members of “Mix Nine,” ONF continued their activities, releasing their second EP, “You Complete Me,” in June 2018. They then expanded into the Japanese market, signing with Victor Entertainment and making their official Japanese debut in August 2018 with a re-recorded Japanese version of “On/Off.” Laun departed from the group in August 2019 due to personal circumstances, just before the release of their fourth EP, “Go Live.”

In 2020, ONF competed in Mnet’s reality television competition “Road to Kingdom,” finishing in second place. Their track “New World (신새계)” from the show became their first to chart on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s K-pop Hot 100. They released their fifth EP, “Spin Off,” in August 2020, followed by their first studio album, “ONF: My Name,” in February 2021, and its repackaged version, “City of ONF,” in April 2021. “Beautiful Beautiful” earned them their first music show win on SBS MTV’s “The Show” and reached number 7 on the Gaon Digital Chart. In November 2021, all Korean members collectively enlisted for mandatory military service, with U being the only member not to enlist. During their service, they released the pre-recorded special album “Storage of ONF” in August 2022 and Hyojin’s solo single “Love Things” in February 2023. Upon their discharge in June 2023, the group resumed activities, holding a fan meeting and participating in the RBW 2023 Summer Festival. They released their seventh EP, “Love Effect,” in October 2023, and in 2024, J-Us and MK began promoting under their legal names, Seungjun and Minkyun. The group also held their first Canada Tour “Be Here Now in Canada” and a solo concert series “Spotlight” in Seoul and Japan, followed by the release of their eighth EP, “Beautiful Shadow” in April 2024, and their first instrumental album, “Infuse,” in August 2024. Their second studio album, “ONF: My Identity,” is scheduled for release in February 2025.
