Rahat Fateh Ali Khan became an integral member of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s renowned Qawwali group by the age of fifteen, embarking on international tours including a significant UK tour in 1985. Following Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s passing in 1997, Rahat assumed leadership of the acclaimed Qawwali group, continuing its profound musical legacy. His career further diversified with his debut as a Bollywood playback singer in 2003 for the film Paap, performing the acclaimed song ‘Mann Ki Lagan.’ This milestone swiftly opened doors to extensive work across Hindi cinema and the Pakistan film industry. Demonstrating his global appeal, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan achieved significant milestones in 2012, including sold-out concerts at major venues such as Wembley Arena and Manchester Arena, setting records for ticket sales.

His consistent presence in Coke Studio further cemented his status as a contemporary icon, with appearances across five editions. Notable performances include ‘Garaj Baras’ (Season 1), ‘Chhaap Tilak Sab Chheeni’ (Season 7), and the immensely popular ‘Afreen Afreen’ (Season 9), which garnered over 300 million views. He also contributed ‘Aaj Rang Hai’ (Season 9), ‘Sayonee’ (Season 10), ‘Rangreza’ (Season 10), and ‘Dil Tarpe’ (Coke Studio 2020), showcasing his versatility and enduring appeal in Qawwali, ghazals, filmi, and Sufi music.
