Royal Wood

Royal Wood’s distinguished career commenced with the release of his self-written, arranged, and produced ‘The Milkweed EP’ in 2002. This was quickly followed by his full-length debut, ‘Tall Tales,’ released on Maple Music in 2004, where he also served as producer. In 2007, Wood unveiled ‘A Good Enough Day’ on Dead Daisy Records, an album featuring a Steinway grand piano and string quartet, which garnered significant international exposure. Tracks from the album were prominently featured on television series including ‘ReGenesis’ and ‘This Is Wonderland’ in 2007, alongside ‘A Mirror Without’ on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘Paradise’ on ‘Private Practice.’ This period of success culminated in a comprehensive European tour in 2008.

Building on this momentum, Wood released ‘The Lost and Found EP’ in 2009, preceding his acclaimed 2010 album, ‘The Waiting.’ The latter earned him the title of iTunes Songwriter of the Year from iTunes Canada and a Juno Award nomination for Songwriter of the Year. In 2012, ‘We Were Born to Glory’ debuted successfully, landing in the Top 25 on the Canadian Albums Chart, and subsequently received a Juno Award nomination for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 2013 ceremony. His 2014 album, ‘The Burning Bright,’ featured the lead single ‘Forever and Ever,’ which became a Top 40 hit in Canada. Later that year, he released the companion album ‘I Wish You Well.’ Wood continued his prolific output with the 2016 release of ‘Ghost Light,’ an album recognized by the Irish Times as one of the ‘Best Albums of the Year,’ with its lead single ‘Long Way Out’ entering the CBC Music Top 20.

Throughout his career, Wood has also garnered five Canadian Folk Music Award nominations and achieved a #1 added song at Hot AC, solidifying his reputation as a revered and consistently evolving artist.
