Russ Taff is a multi-Grammy and Dove Award-winning artist, recognized for his powerful vocals and influential contributions to contemporary Christian music, country, and gospel genres. After joining The Imperials in 1976 as lead vocalist, Russ Taff’s distinctive voice became integral to the group’s sound, leading to significant commercial success and critical acclaim. From 1976 to 1981, The Imperials earned three Grammy Awards, including their first for ‘Sail On’ in 1977, and five Dove Awards. Taff himself was recognized with a Dove Award during this period, establishing him as a significant figure in contemporary Christian music through performances of acclaimed songs such as ‘Praise the Lord.’ Building on this foundation, Taff embarked on a solo career in 1981, ultimately releasing twelve albums and garnering two additional Grammy Awards and five Dove Awards.

In 2016, he was inducted into the GMA’s Gospel Music Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy in the genre. His life and musical journey, including personal struggles, were chronicled in the 2018 documentary film, ‘I Still Believe,’ which brought his compelling story to a wider audience. He continues to perform at Gaither Homecoming concerts and solo events, maintaining a reputation for dynamic vocal performances. Further celebrating his influence, Russ Taff received the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award alongside Tori Taff in 2019.
