Sam and the Womp are a multi-platinum selling and number one UK band, bringing their vibrant brass and beats sound to stages globally, known for their international chart success. After achieving global recognition with their debut single ‘Bom Bom,’ Sam and the Womp established themselves as a multi-platinum selling and number one UK band. Formed in September 2009, the British pop group, initially comprising trumpeter Sam Ritchie, vocalist Bloem de Ligny, and producer Aaron ‘Audio’ Horn, blended traditional Balkan music with modern dub and drum ‘n’ bass. Their groundbreaking debut single, ‘Bom Bom,’ released as a digital download on August 19, 2012, immediately soared to number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Sam and the Womp recently entered a new phase of their career, signing a partnership with Cherry Red Records. This collaboration has ushered in a wave of new music, including the 2021 single ‘Sun Dance’ featuring UK-based Ghanaian vocalist K.O.G., and ‘Rise Up’ with Reggae MC Natty Campbell. Other recent releases include ‘Come We Play,’ ‘Bubble and Whine,’ and ‘Dapper Dapper.’ Trumpeter Sam Ritchie is actively involved in producing new material for upcoming projects, maintaining the band’s distinctive sound.
