About

Samuel Weston Williams was born on May 30, 1997, in Nashville, Tennessee. Raised in Paris, Tennessee, he comes from a significant musical lineage. He is the grandson of Hank Williams and the son of Hank Williams Jr., continuing a family tradition in country music. In April 2019, Williams made his late-night television debut on “Late Night with Stephen Colbert,” performing his song “Can’t Fool Your Own Blood.” This performance took place in the former Franklin, Tennessee, home of his grandfather, providing a connection to his heritage. Later that year, in October 2019, he debuted at the Grand Ole Opry with the same song. During 2019, Williams also toured Europe as an opening act for Cam on the Country to Country Festival tour.

In June 2021, Williams signed with Universal Music Group Nashville. His debut album, “Glasshouse Children,” was released in August 2021, receiving positive reviews from publications such as Rolling Stone and Music Row. The album featured collaborations with notable artists, including Dolly Parton on the track “Happy All The Time” and Keith Urban on “Kids.” Williams wrote a two-page letter to Dolly Parton to secure her collaboration, detailing the song’s meaning. In October 2022, a deluxe edition of his debut, “Glasshouse Children: Tilted Crown,” was released, adding six new tracks to the original ten. This period also saw him touring with Marty Stuart throughout Europe in August and September 2022, performing in countries like Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. Later in 2023, he released a cover of his grandfather’s hit “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and performed multiple times at the Grand Ole Opry, as well as CMA Fest in Nashville and the UK’s Country 2 Country Fest.

In February 2024, Williams collaborated with Carter Faith on a duet cover of Tammy Wynette’s “‘Til I Can Make It on My Own,” which they also performed at the Grand Ole Opry. His song “Carnival Heart” was selected as the official anthem for “Songblazers: A Journey Into Country Music,” a show produced by Cirque du Soleil and Universal Music Group Nashville. June 2024 saw the release of “Act I: Scarlet Lonesome,” the first part of his three-act trilogy, and he participated in GLAAD’s 2024 Concert for Love & Acceptance. The second installment, “Act II: COUNTRYSTAR,” was released on July 11, 2025, featuring a reimagined version of “HONKYTONKIN’.” To date, Williams has performed at the Grand Ole Opry 19 times, consistently redefining his artistic identity while honoring his family’s legacy.
