Sfera Ebbasta is an Italian rapper who rose to prominence through trap music, achieving significant commercial success and holding records for chart-topping singles and albums in Italy. After establishing his professional career through collaborations with producer Charlie Charles and co-founding the Billion Headz Money Gang (BHMG) collective, Sfera Ebbasta achieved his breakthrough with the release of his debut studio album, XDVR, in 2015. Created with Charlie Charles, the album was reissued later that year through Roccia Music, an independent label co-founded by Marracash. XDVR was instrumental in popularizing trap music in Italy.
The album featured chart-performing singles such as ‘Elegante’ with DrefGold, ‘Miami’ with Ronny J and Duki, ‘M’ manc’ with Shablo and Geolier, and ‘Bottiglie Privè.’ That year, he also featured on notable tracks like ‘Immortale’ from Guè Pequeno’s album Mr. Fini and ‘Dorado’ with Mahmood and Feid. Sfera Ebbasta holds the record for the most songs reaching number one in Italy, with 24 tracks achieving this milestone, solidifying his status as the best-selling artist in Italy of the 2010s. Sfera Ebbasta’s prolific output continued into recent years, achieving further commercial success.
In 2021, his collaboration with Blanco, ‘Mi fai impazzire,’ peaked at number one on the Italian charts and earned an impressive 9x Platinum certification. He continued international ventures with the release of ‘Italiano Anthem’ and ‘Mamma mia,’ both with Rvssian in 2022. The following year, 2023, saw the release of his track ‘Orange’ with Luciano, alongside features on ‘Location’ with Noizy and ‘Milano’ with Bia and Fivio Foreign. His album X2VR was released in 2023, featuring the single ‘Anche stasera’ with Elodie.
Looking ahead, Sfera Ebbasta is slated to release ‘Neon’ with Shiva in 2025, demonstrating his ongoing presence and innovation in the music landscape.
