Skinny Puppy, an iconic Canadian electro-industrial band, was founded in Vancouver in 1982. Initially emerging as an experimental side project for cEvin Key, the group gained momentum with the addition of vocalist Nivek Ogre. The band’s early releases, including the EP “Remission” and the debut album “Bites,” showcased their innovative fusion of industrial, funk, and rock, establishing them as pioneering figures in the industrial rock scene. Their bold sound, characterized by ground-breaking sampling techniques, resonated with a dedicated cult following and garnered critical acclaim.
