Sugar Ray

Sugar Ray has transitioned from a funk metal band to a pop rock group, achieving mainstream success with multiple hit singles and platinum albums. After establishing themselves in alternative music circles with their 1995 debut album ‘Lemonade and Brownies,’ Sugar Ray achieved significant mainstream success in 1997 with the single ‘Fly’ from their album ‘Floored.’ Formed in 1986, the band’s original lineup included Rodney Sheppard, Stan Frazier, Murphy Karges, and Mark McGrath. Initially known as Shrinky Dinx, they changed their name to Sugar Ray upon signing with Atlantic Records. ‘Fly’ became a major hit, driving ‘Floored’ to double-platinum certification and marking a pivotal shift in their musical direction towards a more pop-influenced sound.

Maintaining their performance schedule, Sugar Ray is set to perform at an NFL game halftime show in 2025, continuing to engage their fanbase and reach new audiences.
