The Rose

The Rose remains an alternative rock band originating from Seoul, South Korea. The lineup features Kim Woo-sung as the main vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Park Do-joon on keyboard and vocals, Lee Ha-joon handling drums, and Lee Jae-hyeong playing bass. Formed independently, the four-piece ensemble initially gained recognition through busking on the streets before making an official debut in August 2017 with the track “Sorry.” This breakout single showcased their distinctive British pop-rock influence, highlighted by emotive vocal deliveries and atmospheric instrumental arrangements.

Following their debut, the group expanded their discography with successive releases, including the mini-albums Void and Dawn, which charted well internationally. Their musical identity sets them apart within the broader South Korean entertainment industry, relying heavily on self-produced indie rock sensibilities rather than conventional idol group formulas. The musicians draw inspiration from various life experiences, infusing their tracks with themes of healing, youth, and emotional vulnerability that deeply resonate with their listener base.

Despite facing temporary interruptions due to mandatory military enlistment requirements, the band maintained their artistic connection through solo projects and eventual group reunification. They signed with Transparent Arts and embarked on extensive global tours, performing major festivals across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Today, The Rose remains a prominent independent force, continuously touring and producing heartfelt music that bridges cultures and solidifies their enduring presence on the international stage.
