The Vaccines

The Vaccines, an English indie rock band formed in West London in 2010, have released six studio albums, selling two million records worldwide, and toured with acts such as The Rolling Stones and Arctic Monkeys. After their debut single ‘If You Wanna’ was named ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Zane Lowe in 2010, The Vaccines swiftly established themselves as a formidable force in indie rock. The band’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?’, released in 2011, became the best-selling debut album of the year in the UK. This initial success was preceded by their first appearance on ‘Later with Jools Holland’ in 2010 and nominations for an MTV Award for ‘Best New Band of 2011′ and a Critics’ Choice Brit Award.

The band’s talent has been consistently recognized, earning them the ‘Best New Band’ award at the NME Awards in 2012 and nominations for a Brit Award for Best Live Act, and NME Awards for Best British Band and Best Album, all in 2013. In 2023, founding member Freddie Cowan amicably departed, with Timothy Lanham transitioning to lead guitar duties and Matt Hitt joining as a touring musician. The Vaccines marked a new chapter in 2024 with the release of their sixth studio album, ‘Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations,’ further solidifying their enduring presence and evolving sound within the indie rock landscape.
