Xefer Rahman

Xefer Rahman is an independent singer-songwriter from Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her early musical journey began not with formal training, but with the spontaneous recording of a song on a cellphone at the age of 17. This initial step led to the realization of her musical talent and subsequently, her emergence in the music scene. She gained attention through her captivating renditions of English songs, which she shared on YouTube.

Xefer’s career progression solidified with the release of her debut album in 2017. This marked a significant achievement, establishing her as a pioneering artist in English-language music from Bangladesh. Her work includes tracks such as a Bangla pop-anthem featured on the official soundtrack of the national award-winning film ‘No Dorai’. Her musical approach is characterized by a reluctance to conform to conventional genre classifications, often incorporating elements from experimental pop, industrial rock, and hip-hop. She has also released popular covers of songs like “Skyfall”, “Dirty Diana”, and “Radioactive”.

Throughout her career, Xefer Rahman has focused on creating diverse and immersive sonic experiences. She continues to expand her artistic range, collaborating with other musicians such as Bangladeshi-American musician Sanjoy Deb and pop singer Hazel Rose on new projects.
