Award-winning Alessandro Juliani has built a successful and incredibly varied career as an actor, voice actor, singer, audiobook narrator, and composer. He is currently best known for Lieutenant Felix Gaeta in the classic sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica and Dr Emil Hamilton in long-running superhero series Smallville. He has also voiced characters in many popular animated series and video games such as Barbie, G.I Joe: Spy Troops, X-Men: Evolution, Hot Wheels Battle Force 5, and many others. In 2022, he wrote the score for his first full-length feature film, Donkeyhead. His music was nominated for Best Musical Score at the Leo Awards.
Juliani has been in the acting game now for over 35 years. Born in Montreal in 1975, he made his first on-screen appearance back in 1989, appearing in an episode of MacGyver. Shortly afterwards, he won his first regular voice roles, working on shows such as Camp Candy and Captain N: The Game Master. However, it wouldn’t be until 2004 that he won his major live-action role — that of Felix Gaeta in Battlestar Galactica. His performances in the 2009 webisodes of the show saw him win a Streamy Award.
In the years since what many believe is his signature role, Juliani has continued to build a fascinating CV, from playing Shakespeare to singing opera to narrating audiobooks to voicing dozens of characters in children’s shows. As his recent score for Donkeyhead shows, despite his long and varied success stories, he is constantly pushing himself into new areas and developing his remarkable talents.
