Alex Spiro is a prominent attorney known for his work across a wide array of high-profile litigation, representing public figures and corporations in complex legal matters. After a distinguished five-year tenure as a Manhattan prosecutor (2008-2013), securing the conviction of serial killers Rodney Alcala in 2012 and Travis Woods, Alex Spiro established himself as a leading litigator in high-profile legal matters. During this period, he also worked with the Conviction Integrity Unit and tried over 50 cases to verdict as lead counsel in federal and state courts. Specializing in white collar and regulatory issues, defamation, First Amendment law, and complex financial disputes, Spiro earned his J.D.
In 2020, Spiro’s influential work included co-authoring a brief to the U.S. Supreme Court on the stigmatization of rap music and securing the dismissal of Robert Kraft’s solicitation case. In 2021, he obtained a temporary restraining order against Damon Dash, blocking an NFT auction of Jay-Z’s album and securing Jay-Z a $4.5 million award in a cologne deal lawsuit. In 2022, Spiro was appointed to oversee Twitter’s legal, marketing, and trust and safety teams.
He also serves as Counsel to the Reform Alliance and Chairman of the Board for Harvard’s criminal justice initiative, The Fair Punishment Project. In 2023, Spiro again defended Elon Musk in a securities fraud trial (Musk found not liable) and achieved reduced damages for Tesla in the Owen Diaz v. Tesla lawsuit. In 2024, he obtained dismissal with prejudice of an involuntary manslaughter charge against Alec Baldwin, was retained by MrBeast, and represented NYC Mayor Eric Adams in a federal corruption case (charges dismissed with prejudice by 2025).
Further solidifying his pivotal role, a plaintiff dropped a rape lawsuit against Jay-Z in 2025, and Spiro was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors at CleanCore Solutions that same year.
