Alexa Demie

Born on December 11, 1990, in Los Angeles, California, Alexa Demie showed an early interest in creative arts, writing songs and poetry from the age of twelve. Before pursuing acting, Demie developed a line of unique bedazzled sunglasses called Mainframe. These sunglasses gained international recognition and were worn by notable figures such as G-Dragon, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, and Amber Rose, featuring in publications like Vogue Korea. Despite her initial plans to pursue fashion design, she ultimately shifted her focus to performance.

Demie’s professional acting career began in 2015 with a role in the short film “Miles.” She subsequently took on recurring roles in television series, appearing as Shairee in “Ray Donovan” (2016) for three episodes and as Marina in “Love” (2018) for two episodes. Her feature film debut was in “Brigsby Bear” (2017), where she played Merideth. She gained further recognition for her role as Estee in Jonah Hill’s critically acclaimed film “Mid90s” (2018). These early roles established her presence in both independent cinema and television productions.

A significant turning point in Demie’s career came in 2019 with her starring role as Maddy Perez in the HBO teen drama “Euphoria.” Her portrayal of Maddy, a complex high school student, earned her widespread critical acclaim and breakout star status. In the same year, she starred as Alexis in the drama film “Waves,” a role for which she drew upon her personal experiences to inform her performance. Demie has continued to expand her work to include directing music videos, such as JMSN’s “Talk is Cheap” (2018) and “Love 2 U” (2021). She also made a cameo in The Neighbourhood’s “Stargazing” music video (2020) and appeared in the feature film “Mainstream” (2020) and the short film “Nineteen on Fire” (2021). Her collaborative project, “Fairy Tales,” a collection of erotic short stories and photographs with Petra Collins, was published in 2021. She is slated to appear in upcoming projects including the animated series “Fables” and HBO’s “Fantasmas,” and continues her role in “Euphoria,” with filming for season three beginning in 2025.
