Jt Snow

Jack Thomas Snow Jr. was born on February 26, 1968, in Long Beach, California. His father, former NFL player Jack Snow, played a significant role in developing his fielding abilities, specifically at first base. Snow attended Los Alamitos High School, where he achieved All-Orange County honors in baseball, football, and basketball. He later played three seasons for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team at the University of Arizona, alongside future MLB players such as Kenny Lofton and Trevor Hoffman. In 1988, he also played collegiate summer baseball for the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

Snow’s professional baseball career began when he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the fifth round of the 1989 MLB June Amateur Draft. He made his major league debut with the Yankees in September 1992. Following the 1992 season, Snow was traded to the California Angels, where he played from 1993 to 1996 and earned two Gold Glove Awards. In 1997, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants, where he spent most of his career, establishing himself as a defensive specialist. During his tenure with the Giants, Snow won four additional Gold Glove Awards, bringing his total to six consecutive awards from 1995 to 2000. He also led the league in sacrifice flies in 2000 with 14.

After his playing career, Snow transitioned into broadcasting, working as a color commentator for Giants radio broadcasts and as an analyst for the Pac-12 Network. He also served as a special assistant to the Giants’ general manager and as a roving minor league instructor. In 2008, he signed a one-day contract with the Giants to officially retire as a member of the team, making a final appearance on the field. In 2024, Snow was announced as the first base and bench coach for the Oakland Ballers of the Pioneer League, continuing his involvement in baseball.
