Alexandra Paul

Born Alexandra Elizabeth Paul on July 29, 1963, in New York City, Paul began her career modeling before pursuing acting. She decided to forego college at Stanford University to focus on her acting aspirations. Her early roles included starring in the highly rated telefilm “Paper Dolls” in 1982 and the John Carpenter horror film “Christine” in 1983. This was followed by appearances in “American Flyers” (1985) alongside Kevin Costner, “8 Million Ways to Die” (1986), and “Dragnet” (1987) with Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd, establishing her presence in both film and television.

Paul is widely recognized for her five-year starring role as Lt. Stephanie Holden in the hit series “Baywatch” from 1992 to 1997, where she appeared in 92 episodes. Beyond “Baywatch,” she held regular roles in other television series such as Fox’s “Fire Co 132” and the final eight episodes of “Melrose Place.” She further expanded her career by starring in 11 movies for the Lifetime Movie Network. Her work also extends to hosting, with four years on the extreme sports series “Wild Waters” for the Outdoor Life Network, two seasons of the WE network series “Winning Women,” and 150 episodes of the environmental TV talk show “Earth Talk Today” through 2008.

In recent years, Paul has focused on independent film projects and online series, while also pursuing production roles for films such as “Valerie X” and “The B Team.” She actively co-wrote and co-produced documentaries like “Jampacked,” focusing on global population issues, and “The Cost of Cool: Finding Happiness in a Materialistic World,” which earned a CINE Golden Eagle Award. Her career progression reflects a consistent engagement with varied creative and advocacy-driven projects, culminating in her current role as a co-host of the plant-based lifestyle podcast Switch4Good, which was named Best Vegan Podcast by Mercy for Animals in 2024.
