Since Camila Morrone played the title role in the indie film, Mickey and the Bear, critics at the Los Angeles Times have been calling her “The Next Jennifer Lawrence.”
Hailing from Los Angeles, Morrone got her start as a model. Currently, she’s signed to the prestigious IMG Models and has been walking runways around the world since she debuted at Moschino’s 2017 Resort Collection. She’s been featured in Sports Illustrated and even graced the cover of a 2016 Vogue issue in Turkey. And she’s a sought-after model for advertisement campaigns, working with brands like Topshop, Victoria’s Secret PINK, and Coach, to name a few. With a resume like this, it’s no wonder she has over 2.3 million followers on Instagram and counting.
Still, Morrone found herself interested in acting. She’d turn down type-cast roles that she felt were too related to her modeling to find characters she deeply identified with. For her first accepted role, she worked with James Franco on a project he directed called Bukowski. From there, she’s appeared opposite Maia Mitchell in Never Goin’ Back and alongside Bruce Willis in Death Wish, both of which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. With her consistent performance and promise, the San Diego International Film Festival honored her with the 2019 “Rising Star Award.”
More recently, she was seen as Ruby in the movie Valley Girl, and she’s currently working on an Amazon miniseries produced by Reese Witherspoon called Daisy Jones & The Six.
