Ali Hillis was born on December 29, 1978, in Huntington Beach, California. Her family moved to Normal, Illinois when she was six months old, and later to Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, when she was three. At age 13, she relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she began performing at The Children’s Theater. Her early career involved auditioning for Broadway plays in New York City while also securing roles in television shows such as “Felicity” (1999), “Undressed” (2000), “FreakyLinks,” “Baywatch Hawaii” (2001), “JAG” (2004), “Boomtown,” and “Less Than Perfect” (2002). These early engagements laid the groundwork for her career in both on-screen and voice acting.
Hillis established a significant presence in feature films, appearing in works like “All the Wrong Places” (2000), “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” (2005) alongside Robert Downey Jr., “Must Love Dogs” (2005), “Open Water 2: Adrift” (2006), “The Ultimate Gift” (2006), and “The Heartbreak Kid” (2007). In the realm of voice acting, she gained recognition for key roles such as Dr. Liara T’Soni in the “Mass Effect” trilogy, Lightning in the “Final Fantasy XIII” series, and Palutena in “Kid Icarus: Uprising.” Her voice work extends to characters like Karin in the “Naruto” series, Ariel Hanson in “StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty,” and Isabelle “Izzy” Sinclair in “Fuse.” She also starred in “Fix Me,” a YouTube web series by ModernMom in 2012, playing Sydney Lang.
