Alica Megan Schmidt was born on November 8, 1998, in Worms, Germany. She began her athletic career training at MTV Ingolstadt, competing in 200, 400, and 800-meter running events. Her early career saw her achieve significant milestones, including a second-place finish in the 200 meters at the German U20 Championship in 2017. That same year, she earned a silver medal as part of the German 4 × 400 meters relay team at the European Athletics U20 Championships in Grosseto, where their time of 03:33:08 was a personal best.
Schmidt continued her career progression, joining SCC Berlin ahead of the 2019 season. In 2019, she secured a bronze medal with the German 4 × 400 meters relay team at the European Athletics U23 Championships in Gävle. She also placed third in the U23 400 meters event and second in the 4 × 400 meters relay at the German Athletics Championships. Her career expanded beyond competition when she was appointed as a fitness coach for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund during the 2020–21 season, showcasing her engagement in professional sports off the track.
Schmidt has also represented Germany at the highest levels of international competition. She was part of the German squad for the 4 × 400 meters relay at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships. She was selected for the German relay squad at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics, attending as a substitute for the mixed relay. In 2022, she came second in the 400 meters at the German Indoor Athletics Championships and competed in the 4 × 400 meters relay at the European Athletics Championships, where the German team finished fifth. She was selected for the German squad for the 4 × 400 mixed relay event at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
