Johnny Hooper

Johnny Hooper is a decorated water polo Olympian and four-time All-American, known for his scoring ability and contributions to the United States national team, earning medals at Pan American Games, World Cups, and Olympic Games. After leading Harvard-Westlake High School to back-to-back CIF Southern Section Division I championships, Johnny Hooper went on to solidify his reputation as a formidable water polo player. During his high school career, he was recognized as a four-time All-American, the 2015 CIF Division I Player of the Year, the 2014 Co-Player of the Year by Los Angeles Daily News, and a two-time Mission League MVP. While with Premier Water Polo Club, Hooper was a 1st Team All-Junior Olympics performer at every age level, helping the club secure Junior Olympics titles at the 18, 16, 14, and 12-under levels.

He competed in his first Olympic Games at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021), scoring 10 goals as Team USA placed 6th. He also tallied 15 goals at the 2023 World Aquatics World Championships in Fukuoka (7th place) and secured a second gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago with 11 goals. In 2024, Hooper earned an Olympic Bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games, contributing 6 goals to Team USA’s effort. This followed a strong showing at the 2024 World Aquatics World Championships in Doha, where he scored 10 goals.

Beyond his national team commitments, Hooper has competed professionally for clubs such as Palaio Faliro in Greece and Telimar in Italy. He also holds a professional role at March Capital, and serves as an Ambassador for the Ocean Recovery Alliance, aligning his diverse engagements with broader community involvement.
