Alison Fernandez made her professional acting debut in 2011 with a recurring role as Zara Amaro in ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,’ appearing in 10 episodes across seasons 13 to 16. This early career success followed her formal education in acting for theater, singing, and choreography from A Class Act N.Y. and initial appearances in PBS children’s shows. In 2014, Fernandez expanded into feature films with her debut as Rosa Mendez in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ and also appeared as Amy Garcia in ‘MOMMAP.’ The mid-2010s saw Fernandez diversify her television presence with various guest roles including ‘Fresh Off the Boat’ and ‘Another Period.’ She secured a recurring role as Young Jane in ‘Jane the Virgin,’ a character she portrayed from 2016 to 2019.
Her work in 2018 also included the TV movie ‘Life-Size 2,’ where she co-starred as Lex alongside Tyra Banks and Francia Raisa. More recently, Fernandez held a main role as Amber in Netflix’s ‘Team Kaylie’ from 2019 to 2020, and starred as Pepper Paloma in the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Upside-Down Magic’ in 2020. Her career further includes extensive voice work, notably as Maisie in ‘The Chicken Squad’ from 2021 to 2022. In 2021, she also made an appearance in Disney’s ‘Raven’s Home,’ demonstrating her sustained presence and continued demand across diverse family-friendly productions.
