Alyshia Ochse is an American actress, writer, and producer who is currently best known for her roles in television shows such as True Detective, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, #FreeRayshawn, and many others. She also hosts a podcast called That One Audition, in which she talks to fellow actors and actresses about inspirational audition tales and helpful survival skills in the notoriously tough and shallow entertainment industry. When not acting, writing, producing, or podcasting, she works as a consultant for aspiring actors and a life coach.
Ochse is a true Southern belle and was born in Northern Kentucky in 1980. Her childhood aspirations of a career in athletics were cruelly scuppered by a knee injury when she was young whilst the death of her best friend was another tragedy that spurred her to process her emotions through writing poetry, which soon saw her winning competitions and being published in magazines and anthologies. This love of creative self-expression led her to acting, and she made her debut as an uncredited Homecoming Queen in the 2004 Tom Hanks comedy, The Terminal.
Her first recurring role came in 2008, starring as Roxy in Hot Hot Los Angeles. In 2011, she got a further breakthrough when she was cast as Cassandra in 30 episodes of the long-running national-treasure soap opera, General Hospital.Ochse’s biggest acting role to date, however, remains playing Lucy in the first season of the Golden Globe-nominated series True Detective, which saw her appear alongside the likes of Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Her most recent acting projects include the films She’s in Portland and My True Fairytale.
