She was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2005 and earned multiple All-America honors, becoming USC’s number four all-time scorer while leading the team with nine goals in her freshman year and 10 goals during their 2007 championship run. Her exceptional performance led to her selection as the first overall pick in the 2009 WPS Draft, joining the Boston Breakers before moving to the Philadelphia Independence. With the Independence, Rodriguez was recognized as WPS Player of the Month in June 2010 and was named to both the WPS Best XI and WPS All-Star Team that same year. Rodriguez continued her professional dominance with FC Kansas City, securing two NWSL Championships in 2014 and 2015.
In her current role as Head Coach for the Utah Royals FC, Rodriguez leverages her unparalleled experience as a two-time Olympic gold medalist, FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, and two-time NWSL Championship winner to develop and lead a professional club from its re-launch. Her leadership for the 2024 NWSL season underscores her commitment to shaping the next generation of top-tier athletes and establishing a competitive franchise.
