Andrew Dismukes

Andrew Vincent Dismukes, born on June 21, 1995, in Houston, Texas, was raised in Port Neches, Texas. He attended Port Neches-Groves High School, graduating in 2013. Dismukes pursued higher education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television-Film in 2017. His involvement in comedy began during his freshman year of college in 2013, performing stand-up in the Austin area. This early engagement in the comedy scene led to him being recognized as the runner-up for “Funniest Person in Austin” in 2016 through the Cap City Comedy Club competition.

His career advanced significantly after performing at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in 2017 as part of the ‘New Faces’ showcase. This appearance resulted in an audition for ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL). Dismukes officially joined SNL’s writing staff in 2017 for its 43rd season. During his time as a writer, he contributed to the show’s success, earning Emmy nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in both 2018 and 2019. This period marked a foundational stage in his professional development within the sketch comedy landscape.

In 2020, Dismukes transitioned from writer to performer on SNL, joining the cast as a featured player for its 46th season. His on-screen presence expanded over the years, leading to his promotion to repertory player status for SNL’s 48th season in 2022. Beyond SNL, Dismukes has taken on acting roles, including the main role of Tony in the 2018 film ‘Call Me Brother’ and the voice role of Matt in ‘The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy’ from 2024 to 2025. He has also performed stand-up across North America and the UK, participating in festivals such as Moon Tower Comedy Festival, the Dublin Comedy Festival, Clusterfest, and the New York Comedy Festival.
