Anthony Atamanuik

Anthony Atamanuik was born on June 15, 1974, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to Larry Atamanuik and Marlene J. Yannetti. His early life included moving to Los Angeles after graduating from Emerson College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in film theory. In Los Angeles, he gained experience working for Jim Henson Interactive, Mr. Show, and Suzanne Somers. Atamanuik later moved to New York in 2000, where he joined the Upright Citizens Brigade in 2002, beginning his training and performing career in improv comedy. He continues to reside in New York with his wife and teaches improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade.

Atamanuik’s career gained significant momentum in 2016 when his impersonation of Donald Trump began to attract national attention, leading to his starring role in the Comedy Central series “The President Show” (2017–2018). As creator and executive producer, he led 22 episodes of the show, which featured his portrayal of Trump in sketches and interviews. His work has also included acting roles in television series such as “What We Do in the Shadows” (2019–2024), where he played Sean Rinaldi, and voice roles in “Skeleton Crew” (2024) and “Star Trek: Lower Decks” (2021). His writing credits extend to projects like “Trump vs. Bernie: Debate for America” (2016) and “Time Traveling Bong” (2016).

Beyond his high-profile Trump impersonations, Atamanuik has a substantial acting and writing portfolio spanning over two decades. His television appearances include “30 Rock,” “Broad City,” “Difficult People,” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” He has also contributed to various video productions and podcasts, showcasing his range as a comedian and actor. His commitment to improv and comedy education at the Upright Citizens Brigade highlights his dedication to the craft, influencing emerging talent while continuing his own performance career.
