Asia Hernandez, born on the Island of Barbados, is the daughter of Trinidad’s International Limbo phenomenon Perry Hernandez and is a talented and dynamic artist who attended New York City’s prestigious Fiorello Laguardia High School of The Arts as a vocal major. Soon starting to work as a recording artist, Asia got the attention of and worked with the former president of Motown Records, Kedar Massenberg. As a result she collaborated with legends Afrika Bambaataa and Daddy O of Stetsasonic and then became a regular fixture in commercials on the MTV Networks as well as hosting The Grind.
These appearances on MTV made Asia a sought after choreographer who went on to successfully choreograph and perform in the International Pop Hit Music Video “This Is Your Night” by Amber. Further acting studies took Asia to Meisner at Weist at the Barron Studio in NYC, as well as The Barrow Group Acting School. Picking up ever more accolades, Asia performed in an Audelco award winning Off-Broadway production of “Damn Yankees!” As well as her acting and presenting ability, Asia is an in demand voice over queen and announcer who works for New York’s top radio stations WKTU, WHTZ, WWPR. She has also portrayed the voice of Oprah Winfrey, Condoleeza Rice, Missy Elliot and Lil Kim and has worked for retailers including Old Navy, Sean John Lounge Wear, Care1Debt Consolidators and NYC Footcare, whilst her filmography now boasts titles like Blue Bloods on CBS, Damages on FX and Sex and The City – The Movie.
