Comedian and all-round entertainer Ben Zabel (aka Ben from Brisbane) is shaking up the industry. Storming onto the scene in Australia’s reality television series “Big Brother,” he has become one of the country’s most well-loved names. Before auditioning for the show, Zabel was a flight attendant based in Brisbane, dreaming of his big break. As soon as he found out where the auditions were taking place – the same ballroom were his high school formal had taken place – he knew he had to go. Once on the show, Zabel’s quirky personality made him an instant fan favourite amongst viewers.
Fresh from the Big Brother house, Zabel created the documentary “Graceland Happiness Project” with co-star Tim Dorner. In it, Zabel spoke openly about his lifelong battle with depression and anxiety. To this day, Zabel still meets fans who were inspired by his story. Since then, Zabel has found his feet with Studio 10 as a roving reporter. He often covers openings and premiers in his home town, Brisbane. Not one to fly solo, Zabel rarely is seen without the support of his Mum!
A data input analyst by day and a well-established comedian by night, Zabel is flying high. Teaming up with Agro (and of course, Jamie Dunn), Zabel lit up the stage at the Brisbane Comedy Festival. No stranger to the national tour, Zabel has performed to thousands throughout the country. A rising social media star to boot, Zabel will be lighting up our screens for years to come.
