About

Beth Stelling was born in 1986 and raised in Oakwood, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton, Ohio. During her high school years, she achieved the 2003 Ohio Speech and Debate Association championship in Humorous Interpretation. She continued her education at Miami University, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre. Stelling lived and worked in Chicago for five years before relocating to Los Angeles in 2012, following the release of her first comedy album, “Sweet Beth.”

Stelling made her television debut in 2014 on Conan. In 2015, Comedy Central released a special featuring her as part of “The Half Hour” series. Her 2015 comedy album, “Simply the Beth,” was recognized as one of the best comedy specials of that year by Vulture magazine. In 2016, Out magazine named her a “Comedian to Watch.” She has also made appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail,” “@midnight,” “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “The UCB Show,” and “The Pete Holmes Show.” Her acting credits include a guest role on the Amazon Prime Video series “Red Oaks.”

Stelling has contributed extensively as a writer for television. She served as a writer for seasons 1 and 2 of HBO’s “Crashing” from 2017 to 2018, and as an executive story editor for “The Last O.G.” on TBS in 2020. She also worked as an on-set writer for the 2019 feature film “Good Boys.” Her stand-up specials include “Girl Daddy,” which premiered on HBO Max in 2020, and “If You Didn’t Want Me Then,” released on Netflix in 2023. In 2021, Stelling had a recurring role as Ms. Fish in eight episodes of the Peacock sitcom “Rutherford Falls.”
