Blake Proud rose to fame as a talented chef who became a breakout star on Australian competitive cooking game show My Kitchen Rules. Since appearing on the show – where he earned himself the nickname ‘The Hat Guy ‘ – Proud has also appeared on Channel 9’s Our State on a Plate.
Born and raised in Perth, Australia, Proud first became fascinated with food when he lost 34kg on his weight loss journey in his early 20s. A fan of cooking clean, simple and wholesome food at home, he took his culinary skills to My Kitchen Rules in 2019, and has continued his home cooking exploits ever since. Proud has also pursued his new found passion for commercial TV work and presenting, and has appeared on several cooking websites including recipe and foodie website Delish.
With extensive experience in the liquor industry, Proud was previously a manager for a vineyard in Australia’s Margaret River. He still works in wholesale liquor and has his finger on the pulse when it comes to everything bar and restaurant related.
Proud’s next goal is to spread the word about the great destinations, people, business and produce available in every inch of Western Australia.
