The Bloom Twins are a Ukrainian-British “dark pop” duo based in London. Since their debut single in 2013, they have released a stream of singles, including a cover of Bob Marley’s classic ‘Get Up, Stand Up’ in support of the Euromaidan protests then happening in their native Kyiv. They collaborated with Benny Benassi on their 2021 single ‘DayDream’ and have supported the likes of Duran Duran, Eels, Seal, and Nile Rodgers. They also had the honour of appearing in UNICEF’s Imagine campaign alongside superstars such as Katy Perry and Will.i.am.
The Bloom Twins are Anna and Sonia Kuprienko. They were born and raised in the suburbs of Kyiv before relocating to London as teenagers looking to break into the music industry. Their first release was a cover of Kish Mauve’s electropop track ‘Fahrenheit’, which they uploaded to YouTube channel in 2013. Their second single, ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, brought them national exposure on everything from BBC Introducing to The Guardian to Newsnight. They were also named Iggy’s Artist of the Week on MTV and began to be offered support slots for numerous high-profile acts.
With an image as striking as their music, The Bloom Twins have also become popular with major fashion magazines, appearing in the likes of Vogue (in Russia, Italy, and Japan), Tatler, Wonderland, Hunger, and ID. They have also been invited to perform at various Fashion Week events, collaborating with the likes of Tommy Hilfiger. With ever-increasing interest in both their visuals and their sounds, The Bloom Twins remain a quirky, essential presence on the British music scene.
