Brad Guzan

Brad Guzan has transitioned from a decorated goalkeeper in MLS and the English Premier League to a respected figure in the soccer community, recently retiring after a 21-year career. After being drafted by Chivas USA as the second overall pick in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft, Brad Guzan quickly established himself as a formidable presence in Major League Soccer, building on earning second-team All-American honors in college. During his tenure with Chivas USA from 2005 to 2008, Guzan made 78 starts and was instrumental in leading the club to the playoffs three times. His exceptional performance was recognized with the prestigious MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2007, a season where he also earned a spot on the MLS Best XI.

His individual excellence was further highlighted by his selection as an MLS All-Star in both 2018 and 2019, as well as receiving the MLS Save of the Year award in 2017. Internationally, Guzan proudly represented the United States Men’s National Team, earning 64 caps and participating in two FIFA World Cups. He was a key member of the squads that secured the CONCACAF Gold Cup title three times, in 2007, 2017, and 2021. After a distinguished 21-year career spanning both the MLS and the English Premier League, Guzan announced his retirement from professional soccer at the end of the 2025 season, solidifying his legacy as a decorated goalkeeper and respected figure in the global soccer community.
