Thomas Robert Hoge was born on May 25, 1989, in Statesville, North Carolina, and was raised in Fargo, North Dakota, where he still resides. He attended Fargo South High School, graduating in 2007. Hoge then pursued collegiate golf at Texas Christian University, where he secured two event victories and tied for third in the individual portion of the 2009 NCAA Championship. During his amateur career, he also won several North Dakota and Minnesota amateur titles, showcasing his early talent in the sport.
Hoge turned professional in 2011, beginning his career on the Canadian Tour, where he won the Canadian Tour Players Cup in his first professional season. He subsequently played on the Web.com Tour from 2012 to 2014, achieving second-place finishes at the 2013 BMW Charity Pro-Am and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in 2015. Hoge joined the PGA Tour in 2015, and by August of that year, he co-led the Wyndham Championship after 36 holes. In January 2018, he secured his first 54-hole lead at the Sony Open in Hawaii, ultimately finishing third.
His breakthrough PGA Tour victory came in February 2022 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he shot a final round 68 to win by two strokes. This marked his 203rd start on the PGA Tour. Hoge continued to show strong form, setting a tournament record with a 10-under 62 in the third round of the 2023 Players Championship. His career achievements include 1 PGA Tour win, 1 Canadian Tour win, and 2 other professional wins, bringing his total professional wins to 4. He has accumulated over $25 million in official money throughout his career.
