When Bree Turner danced at UCLA, a talent scout helped her achieve placements in major motion pictures such as The Big Lebowski, She’s All That, and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. On set, she found herself falling in love with acting, transitioning her role in the entertainment industry. Now, fans recognize her from 100 episodes as Rosalee Calvert on the NBC hit series, Grimm.
Turner’s acting career began with national advertisement campaigns for Dr. Pepper, Gap, Hyundai, and Budweiser—the latter, airing during the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, she still danced her way to several music videos for bands like Sugar Ray. It wasn’t until 1999 that Turner received her first speaking role, appearing in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, as Allison. From there, she caught the attention of MTV producers and found herself as a series regular on the hit show, Undressed.
At that point, Turner became a familiar face across television. Not only did she guest-star on popular programs like Ghost Whisperer, Law & Order: SVU, The Mentalist, Raising Hope, and Rules of Engagement, to name a few, but she also landed more prominent roles, recurring on series like Moesha, Quarantine, and Sex, Love, & Secrets, as well as major network shows like CBS’s Cold Case and ABC’s Spin City. She was even cast as the leading lady in the show, Good Girls Don’t…
On the big screen, Turner’s been a part of star-studded casts in films like The Ugly Truth (with Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler), Just My Luck (with Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine), and The Wedding Planner (with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConoughey). But her most recognizable role, to date, was the head cheerleader in Bring It On: Again, earning her a “Best Actress” nomination from the DVD Exclusive Awards.
