Jonathan Bailey

Jonathan Bailey made his professional stage debut in 1995 with the Royal Shakespeare Company’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Barbican Theatre, followed by his 1996 West End debut as Gavroche in ‘Les Misérables’. His early career included Prince Arthur in the RSC’s ‘King John’ (2001) and his feature film debut in ‘Five Children and It’ (2004). Bailey earned critical acclaim for his stage role in ‘South Downs’ (2011) and a leading role in the television series ‘Leonardo’ (2011-2012). Bailey gained wider recognition for his television work as Olly Stevens in the crime-drama ‘Broadchurch’ from 2013 to 2015.

He also made a guest appearance in ‘Heartstopper’ in 2024. Bailey maintains a significant upcoming presence in film and theatre. He will appear as Fiyero in the highly anticipated musical fantasy film ‘Wicked’ (2024), reprising the role in its sequel ‘Wicked: For Good’ (2025), with the first film earning a SAG Award nomination in 2025. His upcoming projects also include ‘Jurassic World: Rebirth’ as Dr.

Henry Loomis in 2025, and a return to classical theatre as Richard II in Shakespeare’s ‘Richard II’ in 2025. In 2024, Bailey further expanded his impact by launching The Shameless Fund, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
