Brek Shea

Selected as the second overall pick in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, Brek Shea immediately embarked on a distinguished professional soccer career with FC Dallas. From 2008 to 2012, Shea established himself as a versatile force, appearing in 103 games and scoring 19 goals across multiple positions, including striker, central midfielder, and left winger. His exceptional performance earned him significant recognition, including being named to the prestigious 2011 MLS Best XI and receiving 2011 MLS All-Star honors. During this period, Shea played a crucial role in FC Dallas’s successful playoff runs in both 2010 and 2011.

Throughout his extensive club career, Shea concurrently represented the United States Men’s National Team at various levels. A crowning achievement came in 2013, when he secured the Concacaf Gold Cup with the national team, notably scoring the winning goal in the tournament final. After a career defined by versatility, consistent performance, and significant achievements across multiple professional leagues and international competition, Brek Shea officially announced his retirement from professional soccer in May 2023.
