Brett Williams

Brett Williams has transitioned from a distinguished career as a Major General in the U.S. Air Force to a leading expert in cybersecurity and a co-founder of IronNet Cybersecurity. After a distinguished commissioning in 1981, Brett Williams embarked on a highly decorated 33-year U.S. Air Force career, accumulating over 3,700 F-15C flight hours and more than 100 combat missions across Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Northern Watch, and Iraqi Freedom.

He commanded the 363rd Expeditionary Operations Group from 2002 to 2003, followed by the 33rd Fighter Wing from 2004 to 2006. From 2007 to 2009, he led the 18th Wing in Okinawa, Japan, the Air Force’s largest combat wing, where he managed an annual budget exceeding $100 million and cultivated critical relationships with Japanese leaders while supporting over 25,000 U.S. service members and employees. His leadership extended to roles such as Inspector General, Air Combat Command from 2006 to 2007, and Director, Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems (J6) for U.S.

Pacific Command from 2009 to 2011. Culminating his military service as a Major General, Williams served as the Director of Operations (A3O) at Headquarters, U.S. Air Force from 2011 to 2012, overseeing the largest Air Staff directorate comprising over 1300 Airmen and civilians. He then transitioned to the pivotal role of Director of Operations (J3) for United States Cyber Command from July 2012 to June 2014, where he led a team of 400 individuals responsible for global operations and DoD network defense.

Additionally, Williams currently serves as the chairman of the advisory board for the Duke University School of Nursing, further solidifying his diverse expertise and commitment to leadership across multiple vital sectors.
